Italian Volunteers: Empowering Communities through Peer-to-Peer Education

Hi! We are three students from the north of Italy and we came in the first week of March for our Erasmus in Poland with Uniser, the foundation that has enabled us to live this experience. We worked for Fundacji Przyjaźń Sztuka Edukacja in Wroclaw. The first days, our tutors introduced us to various activities and after that, we started to organize the event Afrikamera at the end of March. We went to some workshops where we worked with the kids, playing with them and helping them discover their talents. We participated at Afrykamera, an event placed in Wroclaw where there are films, events for kids, concerts and exhibitions. For us, this experience was a way to find out about a completely different culture 360 degrees different than ours. We experienced how practical life feels like. In the end, working with kids is a very important to understand that they can form each other, not just for the adults.

Hello there! My name is Ali, I’m nineteen years old and I’m a student of computer science residing in Italy. I enthusiastically pursue my ambition and hobby, using technology and compassion to bridge cultures and communities across borders. I delighted in working with kids, organizing workshops and managing online infrastructure. I found Poland very interesting especially teenagers and food. A completely different style of dressing and cooking. I’ll surely come back.

Poland helped me learn what I want to do in life, taught me numerous things and I made some polish friends. Here are their initials G, E, Z, I.

See you soon Wroclaw..!

Hello! I’m Lara, I’m seventeen years old and I’m Italian-Spanish. I live near Bologna, in the north of Italy. I go to I.I.S. Rosa Luxemburg and I study RIM (international relations in marketing). I study three languages more law, economics, international relations. I came to Poland on 2nd of March for the first time in my life: I was surprised when I came but now I like it so much and I really enjoy the work that we are doing. I like working with kids and organising events. I like organising and planning, so this was a really important experience for me. One of the things that I enjoy the most maybe was the workshops: working with kids and just trying to interact with them in some way (because I don’t know polish). Yes, I really enjoyed everything and I’ll probably come back soon!
