Find out how to join Lelenfant 2023
Friendship Art Education Foundation, organizer of the artistic and educational project Lelenfant, invites you! Join the international artistic and educational project Lelenfant.
From March this year, in three of Wrocław neighbourhoods – Brochów, Kowale and Złotniki, regular classes will be launched in the „kids teach kids” model. The aim is to create a few Lelenfant artistic groups.
It is a space for children and youth, aged 9 to 14, to develop their artistic passions in the field of working in a theatre and music team, gaining stage experience, and above all, developing teamwork skills, empathy, patience, as well as talents in the field of arts performing arts (theatre, dance, music, circus).
Participants will learn to jointly create a scenario of performance from selected elements proposed by each other. They will learn the secrets of building dramaturgy on stage, they will also create their own costumes and sets.
The final of the workshop in the form of a performance will take place on a professional stage in front of an audience of 400 on May 18, 2023.
In August the most engaged group of children will join the international edition of the project, in which they will have the opportunity to create with their peers from different parts of the world.

Lelenfant workshops take different forms*, but they are always based on our idea of „kids teach kids” - peer education and intercultural education. We see great potential in every young person and we want to bring it out and strengthen it. Through joint creative work, and above all, having fun and sharing our skills, passion and even a helping hand, we believe that we are able to learn much more and create something unique. The work process during the workshops is based on elements of pedagogy of theatre, circus or dance, with the use and based on the ideas and talents of the participants.
The main elements of the workshop are:
- communication with children and youth based on empathy and partnership assumptions
- applying elements of theatre and circus pedagogy using the possibilities, ideas and talents of the participants
using the group process as a tool supporting the group work - commitment and a sense of responsibility among workshop participants
- the importance and way of working with the roles of individuals in the group
- the collective leadership of the group and facilitation of the process instead of dominant leadership
Lelenfant - project name derived from the French word for child (l'enfant)
Workshop - two-hour classes during which 3 main elements take place: 1) warm-up in the form of games and activities, 2) the creative part of the exchange of talents and ideas, 3) work on the performance
Performance - the final presentation in the form of a theater performance in which all participants of the workshops perform
Integration workshop - classes lasting several hours, where we will get to know each other while having fun
Stage - a separate area where artists of Lelenfant - children and youth, will perform. In Lelenfant, adults are rarely allowed here. We give the stage to the children.
Scenography - art materials that create the background for the performance. Made and invented by kids.
Artistic instructor - a guide that shows the way how children can get to know each other, establish a relationship and create a show together.
Participant = artist
Workshop coordinator - a person who is responsible in a given place for preparing the room, the presence and punctuality of children, as well as the order and comfort of all involved in workshops and rehearsals.
Final performance producer - a very experienced person who knows how to prepare the stage with lighting and sound, so that the children's performance is the best possible for the audience.
Friendship Art Education Foundation - the organization that coordinates the whole project, invites adults to cooperate (employs them) and takes care of the recipes, promotion and money needed to implement the project.

About the project
It is said that elephants (French: l’éléphant) are the most peaceful, wise and friendly creatures on earth. Just like children! (French: l ‘enfant). This combination gave us the basis for defining the symbolism of the project which is a continuation of #BraveKids under the Friendship Art Education Foundation.
The Lelenfant project – an initiative aimed at intercultural integration in line with the idea of „children teach children”. Participants taking part in the project, although much smaller than elephants, show an equally great heart when creating artistic initiatives together.
Diversity, meetings, integration – a new name, ingrained values, cultivated for years, and even greater motivation and energy to act.
We present to you #Lelenfant – a project with great opportunities for people with big hearts!
The workshops are carried out as part of a public program PROMOTION OF WROCŁAW THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LELENFANT PROJECT IN WROCŁAWIU , co-financed by the Municipality of Wrocław. The coordinator of the project is the Friendship Art Education Foundation in partnership with Złotniki Meeting Center, Made in Brochów Foundation and Grupa z Pasją.
